#DIGI 002 VS DIGI 003 PRO#
However, comparing stability of Pro Tools vs DP, DP has never really matched up to Pro Tools. Are any of you using DP (in my case 4.6.1 OS 10.3.9) with either Digi 002/3 or Digi HD 192i/o? Are you having success or problems? I've got to say, there are many things about DP that I love (MIDI, GUI layout, simplicity, etc). Now to my actual question-I am considering upgrading my home rig from the MOTU 324/2408/1224's to a Digi 003 basically to get to 88.1/96K capabilities. As an audio tecnician/engineer I'm required to know gear inside and out-I've trashed the Digital Performer prefernce folder, repaired permissions, etc., nothing ever works-DP will still crash. (minimal task for such a rig) and DP won't even get past hitting start playback then crashes. I can try only one mono audio track with a file less than 30 sec. In one of our DAW's we have DP 4.6.1 DP absolutely will not run using the Digi HD 192i/o. We have 5 big studios, and 4 DAW's all running Pro Tools HD Accel 2 systems all which run rock solid. Next-I am an audio technician at an audio school in Seattle. This totally freaked the system out, and I could never get a word clock lock and to try to change back to Internal 324 clock was back to the old problem of digital clicks. But, recently I had a session started with Iternal 324 clock, attempted to change the clock to MTP AV master (48K) word clock to 1224 #1 wordclock. At one time I had been locking the interfaces to my MOTU MTP AV (USB) wordclock to 1224 #1 wordclock which worked. In the past I've posted here regarding this topic and I've sent numerous emails to MOTU regarding this issue and have never really solved the problem. I will shut down the interfaces, reboot the MAc (sometimes several reboots are required) untill I eventually get the interfaces to lock. Note: I've tried 3) different PCI-324's so, I doubt it's the card. Sometimes the interfaces will not lock and clock correctly with the Internal 324-I'll get clicks and pops.

In all honesty my MOTU interfaces have always been quirky (clocking). I couldn't afford a Digi TDM system, then I upgraded to a dual 1.25 G4 OS X. Several years ago (OS 9, DP 3, beige G3 days) I swithed my home rig from Pro Tools AM III card to DP with a 1) 2408 v1 and 2) 1224's PCI 324. Are any of you using DP (in my case 4.6.1 OS 10.3.9) with either Digi 002/3 or Digi 192? My actaul question here will relate to upgrading from MOTU 2408 & 2) 1224's to a Digi 003 but, I want to list some issues before the actual question.
#DIGI 002 VS DIGI 003 WINDOWS 7#
However, it's been a pain to get it to use in Windows 7 with any program outside of PT, so I'm considering selling it and buying something a little more Win7 friendly if I can't get it to work this weekend.I've searched the archieves and don't find topics for this question. My friends and I were really impressed with the 003, especially when compared to the old m-audio FireWire 410 and Alesis Multimix 8 FireWire we'd used before. I'm using a TI-chip PCI firewire card and recorded some stuff a week ago with no hiccups.

I uninstalled and reinstalled PT8 and the standalone drivers, but my computer will not recognize the 003 in my non PT8 DAWs and BSODs any time I launch PT. My computer immediately started getting the BSOD.

The first update I downloaded overwrote the audio drivers I'd downloaded to get the 003 working. I had an opportunity to recently buy an iLok so that I could start updating PT8LE. I installed the stand alone drivers and finally got it to work with Windows 7.

The audio drivers that are installed with it will not allow the other DAW software I use to recognize the 003. When I bought it, the guy included a copy of PT8LE that I installed but never used.
